Requesting an Extension for the Show ‘ISHK PAR ZOR NAHI’

Dear Sir/Ma’am,

We, the viewers of the show ISHK PAR ZOR NAHI (abbreviated as IPZN) would like to put forward an appeal to kindly review your decision to shut down the show. The show is not some ordinary Indian Television (ITV) show but is quite progressive and realistic highlighting the crises and issues existing in real life. Since its inception, the show has gone on to break stereotypes on gender inequality, body-shaming, victim-blaming and shaming, domestic violence, cultural prejudices etc. and has delivered social messages in a simple yet convincing and non-preachy manner. IPZN has already proved its capability to change the dynamics of ITV’s fictional content which is mostly repetitive and often reinforces problematic and regressive themes, and is like a breath of fresh air to the audience who are desperate for good content. In the span of just four months since its first airing in March 2021, it has grabbed the attention of a huge mass both in India as well as abroad. Due to its appeal to people of different cultures, languages and nationalities the show has increased traffic, engagement and viewership across various official social media sites of SET India (YouTube, Twitter and Instagram, to name a few) as well as prompted international viewers to subscribe to SonyLIV paid subscription that further  proves that millions of people follow the show regularly and love it. What has impacted its television viewership and ratings the most, according to popular belief, is the blatant content piracy by several unofficial social media accounts (attachment 8) and despite that, this show has continued to thrive in terms of online viewership and engagement (see attachments). There have been several popular trends on Twitter recently, all of which crossed 100K+ tweets, which goes on to show how deeply IPZN has managed to strike the right chords in the audience for them to invest so much in it. Every meaningful creative work requires time to build its identity and a place in its admirers’ hearts and this show has rightly managed to do so in such a short span. SET India is well-recognized as a platform that promotes original and innovative content on ITV while Four Lions Films is prominent in the Indian television and digital content industry for creating flagship shows with meaningful and avant-garde themes, and IPZN has the potential to surpass the records and achievements previously set by both the production house and the channel themselves. If given the proper opportunity, this show will surely lead the charts online or offline and strengthen the position of Four Lions Films Private Limited, Sony Entertainment Television and anyone associated with it as a pioneer of progressive and quality entertainment in the Indian television and digital content industry.

We will conclude by saying that it is the collective opinion of all the ardent viewers of the show that it deserves an extension due to its unconventional content, characters and popularity. We humbly request you to re-evaluate the decision to pull the show off-air and kindly reconsider other options so that this show can survive its untimely ending. Attached to this letter are additional data and documents that highlight what an asset ISHK PAR ZOR NAHI is to Four Lions Films, Sony Entertainment Television as well as the audience across the world.

Thanking You,

IPZN Fandom.
